Program Description

Weightlifting is an Olympic strength sport that highlights the Snatch and Clean & Jerk. In the Snatch, the athlete lifts the barbell from the ground to the overhead position in one motion. In the Clean & Jerk the athlete lifts the barbell from the ground to the shoulders, then gets it into the overhead position. Athletes compete in weight classes based on bodyweight and get three attempts at each lift in competition. The athlete with the highest combined total between the two lifts wins. 


This is our flagship program at Steadfast and it is all about mastering the Barbell. In this program we train the Snatch, Clean, and Jerk for technical consistency and competition peak testing, increase overall strength through plenty of squatting, pulling, and pressing, and perform jump training and speed work to bring it all together. Benefits include an increase in overall strength, speed, power, agility, balance coordination, accuracy and flexibility - but most importantly - an increase in your total. 


Weightlifting is also ideal for high school or collegiate athletes looking to emphasize strength and power development for their sport, even if they don’t plan to compete in Weightlifting as a sport. This advanced program requires athletes to either test in or receive an invitation to participate.
